Crestron e-Software Solutions

Crestron e-Control Enterprise Software Solutions
Bring your system to life without the hassle of having to learn third party website creation packages or becoming an HTML [hypertext markup language] expert. Only Crestron offers such a complete solution:

Crestron X-Panel
Crestron's powerful touchpanel development platform, empowered with instant Website Generation Tools enables users - at the click of a button - to transform existing touchpanel pages into Java-powered HTML code. Runs in any web browser, including Microsoft® Internet Explorer™ and Netscape® Navigator™. Generates HTML code that can be read and edited by any web page creation package such as Microsoft® Front Page™, Adobe® PageMill™, etc. Turns anyone into a web site creation expert!

e-Control E-Mail Instant Messaging
Empowers any 2-Series control system with email capability, via the LAN/Internet, to send email pages, alerts and status updates.

e-Control Database Manager
Centralized database allows information to be shared via the LAN/Internet, with any number of 2-Series control systems. Share dynamic data like videoconference speed dial presets and more.

CNX Gateway e-Control® Enterprise Gateway and SDK
The CNX Gateway provides an IP link between Windowsbased PCs and Ethernet-enabled Crestron control systems for e-Control® applications requiring a separate server computer. The Gateway monitors and controls the number of connections that can be established to the control system and supports SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), the industry standard for protecting sensitive network communications.

Every Ethernet-equipped 2-Series control system includes a built-in gateway and Web server to support the hosting of e-Control Web pages without requiring a separate server computer. However, as an alternative for large campuses with numerous control systems, Crestron's exclusive e-Control Enterprise Gateway software allows IT administrators to manage and host all of their e-Control Web pages on a single centralized PC server.

The CNX Gateway supports HTML/Java based e-Control applications and ActiveX based e-Control 2 XPanel applications.

For software developers, Crestron includes an SDK (software development kit) as part of the CNX Gateway installation package. The SDK contains Java components and ActiveX controls, routines and documentation for creating custom Web and PC-based interfaces that can communicate with Crestron hardware.

e-Outlook
Crestron e-Outlook is a Microsoft® Outlook® add-in that allows users to access and control their Outlook calendars using Crestron touchpanels. With e-Outlook users can plan meetings, schedule videoconferences, manage rooms and tasks, and even use Microsoft Exchange Server to share calendars and appointment information—all from their Crestron touchpanel. In addition, e-Outlook can trigger up to 25 actions during any scheduled appointment, so users can activate a room's equipment for AV control, meeting presentations, or virtual conferencing simply by accessing their calendar.

e-Script
Crestron e-Script allows MIS administrators and programmers to seamlessly incorporate scripts written in various languages (Visual Basic Script, JavaScript, etc.) into the Crestron control network. Using e-Script, MIS departments can work in a familiar language and environment while still taking advantage of the power of Crestron control to:

  • Access database entries
  • Check e-mail messages
  • Control media applications
  • Automate file sending to and from the control system
  • Query network login information
  • Act as a virtual keyboard
  • The e-Script installation package comes with a database of scripts suitable for an array of applications and projects. E-Script makes it easy to configure scripts through a simple properties dialog. After being added from the database, the script can be edited and customized with any text editor.

e-PowerPoint
Crestron e-PowerPoint allows users to preview and control PowerPoint® presentations from any Crestron touchpanel. With e-PowerPoint, the presenter can unobtrusively control all the features of the PowerPoint presentation, while the audience sees the same presentation projected on the screen. A simple icon on the touchpanel launches PowerPoint, starts the slide presentation, and controls the show with easy-to-read notes, titles, and progress indicators.

e-Datalog
Crestron e-Datalog allows the control system to register and maintain up-to-date records on AV equipment usage, with time and date stamping of rooms, user log-ins, device power, system performance and hardware issues. With an easy-to-read graphical database powered by Microsoft Access, e-Datalog helps organizations determine equipment and purchasing needs, user activity and room usage, and to correct potential problems before they affect productivity.

e-Media Player
Crestron e-Media Player allows listeners to use Crestron touchpanels and XPanels to access, display and play back digital media files from the Media Library built into Windows Media Player® (version 9 or later). e-Media Player supports file formats including MP3, WAV and WMA, and displays all Media Library offerings by playlist, artist, album and genre. e-Media Player also has the ability to control and play music CDs from the CD-ROM drive on a PC, and to access any Web-based radio station that is compatible with Windows Media Player.

e-Dial
Crestron e-Dial is a videoconferencing solution that allows organizations to manage worldwide conference sites, contact numbers and data rates. From any PC on the LAN or WAN, conference managers can enter and update information about conferencing sites as they go online, and the information is immediately made available to all Crestron control systems on the network, for display on Crestron touchpanels.
