A: The Kaleidescape Speed Reader will work with the 1, 3 and 5 U servers.

Q: How many discs can the Kaleidescape Speed Reader hold?
A: Each bin can hold 125 discs for a total of 250 discs.

Q: How many discs can the Kaleidescape Speed Reader import at one time?
A: The Kaleidescape Speed Reader can import 2 discs simultaioneosly.

Q: Can I import discs using my Movie Player's DVD/CD Drive while the Kaleidescape Speed Reader is importing?
A: Yes you can BUT Kaleidescape recommends that you have no more then 4 imports going at one time. If you have more than 4 imports at one time, the import time will increase. If you have more than 2 movie players you can only use 2 to import since the Kaleidescape Speed Reader imports 2 discs at a time.

Q: Does the Kaleidescape Speed Reader import faster than the Movie Player?
A: No. The import times are the same.

Q: If the import times are the same using a Kaleidescape Speed Reader or a Movie Player, what benefit do I get using a Kaleidescape Speed Reader?
A: The benefit of using a Kaleidescape Speed Reader is that it will automatically load and and eject the discs. Where as using the Movie Player you have to sit there and manually feed the discs in one by one.

Q: Is there any special equipment I need to run the Kaleidescape Speed Reader?
A: No. You SHOULD NOT need any special equipment to operate the Kaleidescape Speed Reader. The Kaleidescape Speed Reader requires it be on the same subnet and in the same group that the Kaleidescape Server is on that you want to import to. The Kaleidescape Speed Reader also needs to be connected to ethernet switch that supports 1GB speeds.

Q: Do you rent the Kaleidescape Speed Reader to Kaleidescape end users as well as Kaleidescape dealers?
A: Yes, BUT we require that you go through your Kaleidescape Dealer in order to rent the Kaleidescape Speed Reader. The reasons behind this are as follows.
1) Your Kaleidescape Dealer knows your system inside and out, we don't. Since we do not know your system your Kaleidescape Dealer is the most qualified to actually setup and get the Kaleidescape Speed Reader running in as little time possible.
2) The Kaleidescape Speed Reader requires that you have access to the INSTALLER portion of the Kaleidescape web interface. Since the Web Installer is used by Kaleidescape Dealers only you generally will not have access to it and thus will not be able to run the Kaleidescape Speed Reader.

Q: My Kaleidescape Dealer is no longer in business/I no longer do business with them/I don't want to do business with them can I still rent the Kaleidescape Speed Reader?
A: Yes. we will work with you. Even though you may no longer have a Kaleidescape Dealer or you do not want to work with you current Kaleidescape Dealer you will still have to find one that will support you. Again we will work with you and Kaleidescape in finding a Kaleidescape Dealer in your area that can support you.

Q: How is the Kaleidescape Speed Reader shipped?
A: The Kaleidescape Speed Reader is shipped via UPS in a ATA Flight Approved, Anvil Case specifically designed for the Kaleidescape Speed Reader.

Q: Do I need to be home and sign for delivery?
A: Yes. We require UPS to obtain an adult signature (21+) in order to release the Kaleidescape Speed Reader. UPS will NOT leave the Kaleidescape Speed Reader at your door, with a neighbor or anyone else. Someone 21 or over MUST sign for it at the address it's being shipped to.

Q: I am in the Southern California area can I pick up the Kaleidescape Speed Reader instead of having it shipped?
A: Unfortunately we do not keep the Kaleidescape Speed Reader's on site for pick up. We do offer free delivery in the Orange County area. For a small delivery fee we will deliver to LA and San Diego depending on the area.

Q: What if the Kaleidescape Speed Reader is damaged while I am using it?
A: In the unfortunate event that you or someone in your household damages the Kaleidescape Speed Reader you will be responsible for all repair costs up to and including the replacement cost for a new Kaleidescape Speed Reader. You will also be responsible for lost revenue and shipping cost required for repair. Please read our rental contract carefully for terms.

Q: What's is the cost to rent a Kaleidescape Speed Reader?
A: The cost is as follows Daily Rental $200.00, 4 Day Rental Mon-Thurs $500.00, Weekend Rental Fri-Sun $700.00. All rates do not include shipping. There is a $500.00 refundable deposit.

Q: I have my own UPS account number can you bill my UPS account number for shipping charges?
A: Yes.

Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: We take all major credit cards. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
